How to Balance the Drawer

The Balance Drawer feature in Solutions POS allows cashiers to record the amount of money in their drawers. This function must be completed for each cashier who has been assigned to the drawer in order for the End of Day feature to be enabled.

The Balance Drawer feature can be accessed from the Register or the Office.

Use the steps below to access the Balance Drawer feature from the Register.

Register

1. While logged in as cashier, choose menu.

2. Manager enters username and password.

3. Choose “Balance Drawer”.

4. Manager enters username and password.

5. Cashier enters username and password.

6. Drawer opens and paper prints. Take drawer and paper to money counting area.

7. Count drawer down. (Be sure to include any cash drops from that register) Write down all payment amounts, such as cash and credit cards, on the paper.

Use the steps below to access the Balance Drawer feature from the Office.

Office

1. Open Solutions on office computer.

2. Manager logs in.

3. Choose “Balance Drawer”.

4. Manager enters username and password.

5. Cashier enters username and password.

6. Enter amounts from paper into Solutions in appropriate fields.

*If amounts do not match, count drawer again and try entering information again.

**Once you get the numbers entered and the system accepts them, you will get the following messages:

close-register-message

register-closed-message
